SYTA Safety Materials

SYTA established a Safety Committee that works with tourism, risk management, education, and state and local governments to develop standard and materials to help ensure the safety of travelers. The SYTA Safety Committee's mission is to "discover, develop, promote and implement best practices in student travel safety and enhance SYTA's positioning as the 'Voice of Student Travel Safety Worldwide'." Active Shooter Training

Safety preparedness is a critical competence for all who guide or work with the public. The Department of Homeland Security offers free active shooter training: https://www.dhs.gov/active-shooter-preparedness.

ITMI eLearning Hub

ITMI

ITMI is developing ecourses to help guides increase their skills and knowledge of important issues. Their first is a course on Human Trafficking Recognition, what guides should know about it and how to recognize it and actions that should be taken human trafficking is recognized.
